Eight months ago, the word that would LEAST describe me would be "thrifty." I had never really used a coupon, except for a couple of diaper coupons that my father-in-law would give me. I had never been to a consignment sale. And I could barely cook, much less figure out low-cost meals. Everything was about convenience. I guess you can't blame someone who worked 40 + hours a week and took care of a husband and 3 kids, right?
Well that all changed when I up and quit my job at the end of May 2009. Most people would probably think that is quite absurd, especially with the economic recession in America. And to be honest, it probably was not the "smartest" idea, for the mere fact that all of our bills and mortgage and other debts were based on a two-income family. But I begged and pleaded with my husband that I could make it work.
I have to say, I'm becoming a quite proud of myself! We are saving hundreds, yes hundreds of dollars a month on not eating out. And I am a coupon clipping crazy woman. It has been worth every penny saved!
There are MANY ways to slash your grocery bills and other bills every month. And I will share them with you as I learn them and find what works for me. Do not attempt to try everything at once. You will get confused and overwhelmed. It has taken me eight months to get where I am, and I still have a lot to learn! Most of the "deals and steals" that I will share with you daily are found on other money-saving blogs and websites. I find what works for me, or what I think you many want to know about, and share them with you. Many of these sites are listed in the column on the right of this blog. Just click on the "button" to go directly to that site.
Happy Saving!
